As I am sure that you are aware, many of the concepts related to properly addressing individuals with sensitivities to water damaged buildings are relatively new. Slow, but steady, progress is being made in reaching the medical community with information and training. These efforts have resulted in a small but growing pool of doctors who now specialize in diagnosing and treating individuals with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).

Nevertheless, it is clear that for true healing to occur similar progress has to occur in the cleaning and restoration industries. Professionals who understand CIRS and how to treat the environment in order to create “refuges” for healing to occur are a critical component. Wonder Makers Environmental is working to address the deficiency in service contractors who understand the unique challenges of improving the occupied space for sensitized individuals.

Since rolling out a specific training program a few months ago nineteen companies have benefited from our knowledge and experience. The reviews from companies and the clients that they are now serving have been uniformly positive. Given this initial success, Wonder Makers is now in the process of expanding this educational opportunity to all areas of the United States and Canada.

This is where we need your help. Please contact every cleaning contractor, HVAC company, inspector, building performance professional, and mold remediation company in your area and let them know that there are people who need their services and there is a clear approach on how to help sensitized individuals. Although we are already developing a schedule of dates and locations where the program will be offered through sponsors who are connected with the restoration industry, we are committed to bringing the eduction to locations beyond major metropolitan areas. That is why we need to hear from you and the contractors in order to arrange Remediation for Sensitized Individuals courses in your area. The course can be offered for an individual company or as public classes of 10-30 people. When 10 people are registered for class, we are able to offer a free Public Forum the night prior class for all interested people (medical personnel, contractors, sensitized individuals, and spouses).
