In mid-August, we provided you with an update on the New York Mold Law Effective January 1, 2016 and the actions Wonder Makers was taking to get approved as a mold training provider.

It’s official! The State of New York has approved Wonder Makers Environmental as a training provider for the Mold Remediation Contractor course. The IICRC has also approved the Mold Remediation Contractor class for 2 continuing education credits.

According to the law, and the word we have received from the Department of Labor, anyone performing mold services in New York after January 1, 2016, will be required to have supervisors with this specialized Mold Remediation Contractor training. Wonder Makers is approved to offer these classes immediately.

Beginning November 16, 2015, contractors will be able to submit their training/certificates/fees to the State of New York for a license, using application forms that will be posted to the Department of Labor website in the next few weeks.
